P.M. John Le Brocq - 1 million steps - Steps for smiles.

Earlier this year, PM Bro. John Albert Le Brocq set himself a remarkable challenge — to walk 1,000,000 steps throughout the summer recess in aid of Glasgow Sick Children’s Hospital.

To put this into perspective, that is the equivalent of 500 miles — no less than 19 marathons. An incredibly demanding yet deeply rewarding challenge to undertake.

Today, 18th September 2025, we are delighted to announce that PM Le Brocq has completed this extraordinary milestone.

At the age of 81, John has shown us all what dedication, perseverance, and compassion truly mean. His commitment to walking one million steps in support of sick children is nothing short of inspirational. He has raised, to date, approximately £1,500 — funds which will provide much-needed technology equipment and arts & crafts materials for the young patients in hospital.

Lodge Greenock St John’s are immensely proud of our Brother and friend. His determination and generosity reflect the very essence of Freemasonry — service, charity, and the betterment of others.

As Winston Churchill once observed: “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

Please join us in congratulating John on this superb charity achievement, and if you wish to support his efforts further, donations remain open until 21st October via his JustGiving page:

Well done, John — you are an inspiration to us all!
