Earlier RWM Bro. Thomas A. Porteous accompanied by a number of brethren of the Lodge attended the service of Remembrance at Lyle Kirk, Greenock where the service was led by the Lodge Senior Chaplain Bro. Rev. Jonathan C. They Passed This Way
The history of the Lodge makes interesting reading. It gives a picture of a Lodge which worked diligently for the advancement of our craft over a period of 200 years. May the light of Freemasonry which has now burned so brightly in our Lodge for 235 years, continue to illuminate the work of the Lodge and the Province of Renfrewshire West for generations to come. Copies are available from the Lodge Secretary priced at £10.

P.M. John Le Brocq - 1 million steps - Steps for smiles.
Earlier this year, PM Bro. John Albert Le Brocq set himself a remarkable challenge — to walk 1,000,000 steps throughout the summer recess in aid of Glasgow Sick Children’s Hospital. To put this into perspective, that is the equivalent of 500 miles — no less than 19 marathons. An incredibly demanding yet deeply rewarding challenge to undertake. Today, 18th September 2025, we are delighted to announce that PM Le Brocq has completed this extraordinary milestone. At the age of 81

BRETHREN OF LODGE GREENOCK St. JOHN'S, No. 175
Lodge Greenock St. John’s No. 175 has traditions and standards unique to it, of which it is understandably and justifiably proud. Such traditions and standards do not just happen and somehow remain. They are the result of the vision, enthusiasm and hard work of the Founding Members and the determination of succeeding Members not to let these standards and traditions slip. That the vision, standards and traditions are as strong today as they were over 235 years ago are a testi

WHAT IS FREEMASONRY?
Freemasonry (or Masonry} is the oldest fraternal organisation in the world. Though its origins can be traced to the stonemasons and cathedral builders of Medieval times, Freemasonry remains a vital force in the daily lives of millions of men across the globe. Through a series of degrees and ceremonies, the values of Freemasonry are passed from generation to generation, Mason to Mason, in a timeless and tireless effort to make good men better. These degrees provide a framewor

Snapshot of the Lodge
Lodge Greenock St John’s No. 175  The following is a short story of a fraternity which has prospered in Greenock for over 235 years. It began qietly, almost unseen. The brethren who founded the Lodge could hardly have envisaged that, after 235 years, their Lodge would have endured the passage of time.  Contained in the records are details of meetings and events, most faithfully penned by dedicated brethren. Through the records there runs a line of service to the Lodge which
